Sugar
First saw Sugar's picture on Pygmyhogsuk forum and Dink had posted a picture of the little one. Fell in love with her little face straight away. Dink was so kind and looked after her for a futher 8 weeks until we picked her up in July at the show in Northampton. She looked like such a small delicate little hog but weighed around 350g so wasnt all that little! We have no idea of her age, but we dont think she is a very old girl.
After a long drive home she settled into her new home. She had a good explore and wasnt shy about using her wheel with us watching her.
After she had been with us for a couple of weeks we treated her for mites as her skin was very flakey, and also for a urine infection which the vet though could have been due to stress with the long drive home and settling into a new home. She was put on some medication for a few days and it cleared up. Was interesting getting a urine sample from her! We sat in the dark for almost 2 hours waiting for her to have a wee!
Sugar has been with us for 4months now and has settled in her forever home very well. Her skin gets very dry so she has flaxseed oil on her biscuits twice a week and is loosing a number of quills every day, but always has new ones growing through. She is quite shy and will huff but is very friendly, and does like to snuggle up for cuddles on my knee. She has a great apetite and loves her mealworms and mince, not a big fan of veg or scrambled egg.
